JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse

WORK SCHEDULE: Days - Hours Monday through Friday, rotating day shift hours, on call hours as assigned, rotational holiday call required.

WORK TYPE: Full Time (1.0 FTE) - 80 Hours Bi-Weekly; 40W Overtime

JOB SUMMARY:

Provides nursing support and works as a member of the Radiology team to ensure thorough assessment and treatment of patients in all modalities of the

Radiology/Radiology Intervention department.

Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and

maximize patient satisfaction.

Reports directly to the Team Leader, Radiology IR.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Demonstrates strong communication skills.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

For Registered Nurses with less than five (5) years work experience as an RN, a BSN degree is required or enrollment in a BSN program within 12 months of hire date

with BSN degree completed within 4 years of hire date is required.

For Registered Nurses with more than 5 years of work experience as an RN in an acute/inpatient capacity, a BSN degree is not required.

For current Geisinger Registered Nurses who transfer into this position, BSN degree is preferred.

Valid Pennsylvania RN License.

BLS certification preferred and required within 60 days of employment.

ACLS/PALS may be required within 1 year of employment (unit specific).

Duration of on-the-job training to become familiar with job duties varies by individual unit.

Minimum of 2 years as a staff nurse with critical care experience
