As directed by the RN, provides direct outpatient nursing care including treatments, medication and diagnostic studies. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range of their assigned nursing unit.
Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Geisinger Health System.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrated strong communication skills and the ability to be self-directed. Must maintain a high regard for confidentiality.
Demonstrated basic computer skills.
Demonstrated organizational skills and flexibility in scheduling due to possible workload changes. Must be able to perform independently and as a team member.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current L.P.N. licensure (or eligible) for licensure in the state of Pennsylvania required.
BLS certification preferred.
Duration of on-the-job training to become familiar with job duties varies by department.
