JOB DESCRIPTION: Patient Access Representative
DEPARTMENT: Community Medicine
WORK SCHEDULE: Days
WORK TYPE: Full Time
Responsible for front line office support to the department. Coordinates and performs
front line office activities in an effective and efficient manner for the department.
Directly accountable to clinic leadership.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrated competence in written, oral and electronic communication skills
typing, keyboarding, and computer skills).
Demonstrated advanced knowledge of medical terminology, insurance referral and
pre-certification processes, coding, EPIC applications, IDX, and SMS.
Demonstrated office skills including a proficiency in electronic scanning.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities, multi-task, and provide

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of six months related healthcare billing, insurance and/or front line clinic
office experience required.
Successful completion of Key Access Personnel (KAP) training during orientation period.

Work is typically performed in an office environment.
