Demonstrates the ability and knowledge to independently perform and evaluate diagnostic images within established time frames with accuracy. Functions as a coordinator, facilitator and provider of diagnostic imaging services throughout the Lewistown Healthcare Foundation. Responsibilities include assessment, planning and implementation of patient care, proper utilization of equipment and participation in quality assurance programs as requested. The technologist acts as a patient advocate in meeting the patient’s wishes during the hospital experience. The technologist provides for privacy and confidentiality. Responsible for education of the patient, family and other staff is a major focus of this professional.
Other duties as assigned: There are times, based upon unusual work volume (increase or decrease), emergencies, or severe weather conditions, when it will be necessary for you to accept and perform a work assignment or assist with tasks which are outside of your regular duties or cross-trained assignment in which you possess the basic knowledge and skill to perform the assignment safely.
E DUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate or equivalent
Graduate of an approved school of Nuclear Medicine, or Society of Nuclear Medicine approved School of Nuclear Medicine, or registered by the A.R.R.T. in Radiology with at least three years hospital based radiology experience.
Registry eligible in Nuclear Medicine by the A.R.R.T. or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
PA Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprint clearances required
