JOB TITLE: Patient Access Representative-Senior

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing front-line office support for the department or clinic. Responsible for patient check-in and discharge, providing direction as appropriate. Provides clerical support to the medical staff as necessary.

Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Health System in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction.

Works under the supervision of the Manager of the Department.

Demonstrates advanced typing, keyboarding and Internet navigation skills.

Demonstrates advanced knowledge of medical terminology, insurance referral and pre-certification processes, coding, EPIC applications, IDX and SMS.

Demonstrates ability to work independently, set priorities, multi-task and provide problem resolution.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED and minimum of three (3) year previous medical billing or front-office experience in a medical setting.

Successful completion of advanced Key Access Personnel (KAP) training required.

Work is typically performed in an office or clinical environment.
