JOB SUMMARY:

Conducts and supervises original research in accordance with nationally accepted ethical

and regulatory guidelines. Provides professional, substantive and technical support in the design, implementation, analysis and dissemination of findings from research, demonstration and evaluation projects. Contributes to the programmatic goals of the research enterprise.

Directly accountable to the Department, Center or Institute Director or Chair.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Demonstrated ability to independently manage scientific aspects of research projects and to provide discipline-specific scientific expertise to research projects. Excellent analytic, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Demonstrated ability to obtain external funding for research activities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

PhD in relevant discipline or MD/DO preferred; terminal degree and clinical training with national board certification in relevant clinical specialty may be accepted.

Relevant experience and demonstrated promise of success as an independent investigator is required.

In addition, there is an expectation of 5 peer-reviewed scientific publications in which the candidate contributed a significant role.
