Geisinger Accounts Payable Clerk Intermediate (Northeast / North Central Pennsylvania resident) in Danville, Pennsylvania

Job Summary

Enters invoice and payment requests in support of accurate, timely recording and payment of all accounts payable activity.

Job Duties

  • Reviews direct invoices for appropriate documentation, approval, and reasonable general ledger coding.

  • Enters documents into the Accounts Payable module, including activities, categories, and templates.

  • Ensuring that inter-company information is entered when necessary.

  • Enters invoices to be matched against purchase orders into the accounts payable module.

  • Passes any problem invoices to the purchasing buyer for resolution.

  • Reviews reports,resolves matching and buyer message issues, and EDI issues.

  • Report system issues to leadership.

  • Responds to and assists other staff with any AP related questions as needed.

  • Reviews vendor statements.

  • Responds to vendor inquiries.

  • Enters vendor setup and maintenance, maintaining the integrity of the vendor file.

  • Communicates with Purchasing as needed.

  • Contacts vendors for required data, including 1099 information.

  • Reviews travel and business expense reconciliations for accuracy and appropriate approval.

  • Enters documents into the Accounts Payable module, ensuring that inter-company information is entered when necessary.

  • Actively participate in system upgrades, testing, and enhancements (EDI) Provides support to the team as needed.

Work is typically performed in an office environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures. If a suitably experienced candidate cannot be found, applicants who meet the basic qualifications but possess fewer years of experience will be considered for hire at a lower level. Salary would commensurate with experience.

Position Details

Internet requirements:

​ Employee required to have/supply: Cable modem, (high speed, only - No DSL or Wireless Cellular Service or Satellite Service) The minimum requirement is:

    Computer must be connected to the internet via Ethernet cable; wifi is not permitted unless a Virtual Private Network (VPN) is used for the wifi connection

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)- (Required)

Experience

Minimum of 2 years-Related work experience (Required)
