JOB TITLE: Neurophysiology Assistant
LOCATION: Geisinger Medical Center
WORK SCHEDULE: Rotation
WORK TYPE: Part Time
Responsible for observation of the patient in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and preserving the integrity of the recording.
Gives shift report to the Neurophysiology technologist.
Works under the direction of the Neurophysiology Manager.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrates a strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrates an understanding of essential principals of Long Term Monitoring/Epilepsy Management.
Demonstrates an understanding of patient confidentiality.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
A high school diploma or equivalent required. Hospital experience preferred.
Computer experience necessary.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is performed in an inpatient setting.
Work requires extended periods of little movement and constant patient focus.
Work requires engagement with patient(s).
Work requires sitting for long periods of time.
