Geisinger Health System Patient Access Representative in CAMP HILL, Pennsylvania

JOB TITLE: Patient Access Representative

LOCATION: Holy Spirit Camp Hill Center

DEPARTMENT: Cardiology

WORK SCHEDULE: Days/Evenings

WORK TYPE: Full Time

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for front line office support to the department. Coordinates and performs front line office activities in an effective and efficient manner for the department.

Directly accountable to clinic leadership.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Demonstrated competence in written, oral and electronic communication skills (intermediate typing, keyboarding, and computer skills).

Demonstrated advanced knowledge of medical terminology, insurance referral and pre-certification processes, coding, EPIC applications, IDX, and SMS.

Demonstrated office skills including a proficiency in electronic scanning.

Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities, multi-task, and provide problem resolution.

Demonstrated customer service skills.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum of 1 year related work experience preferred.

Successful completion of Key Access Personnel (KAP) training during orientation period.

Minimum six months KAP experience preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work is typically performed in a clinical and office environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
